Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world, he has repeatedly reached 27 mph. But fossil footprints from 20,000 years ago in Australia show an individual running at perhaps 28 mph and they would have been barefoot and running through mud, not on a track with spiked shoes(no offense to Usain Bolt).
